Your questions answered

Common questions

NGER (National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting) is Australia’s mandatory scheme for large organisations to report greenhouse gas emissions and energy use. If your turnover exceeds $25 million or you emit more than 25,000 tonnes CO2-e annually, NGER reporting is compulsory. We help you prepare compliant reports with accurate emissions data.

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from your operations (fuel, generators). Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased electricity and energy. Scope 3 covers supply chain, transport, and other indirect sources. Most organisations must measure all three for true carbon visibility. We calculate and report all scopes under GHG Protocol methodology.

Yes. Most carbon reduction strategies also reduce costs—energy efficiency, waste elimination, supply chain optimisation. We identify the “low-hanging fruit” that delivers both environmental and commercial benefit, then move to longer-term strategic initiatives.

Circular economy moves from “take-make-waste” to “reduce-reuse-recycle.” We identify waste reduction opportunities, resource efficiency initiatives, and sustainable material sourcing that lower costs, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen operational resilience. It’s both environmental and commercial strategy.

Climate Active is Australia’s national certification program for net-zero or carbon-neutral organisations. We support your pathway by measuring emissions, identifying reduction opportunities, and verifying your carbon-neutral claim. It’s powerful marketing and demonstrates genuine environmental leadership.
